The best fish to use in saltwater aquaponics are the sunfish, molly, swordfish. Here are some facts-

The ocean sunfish common is the heaviest known bony fish in the world.  An average adult weight is between 247 and 1,000 kg. The species is native to tropical and temperate waters around the globe.

Poecilia sphenops, also known as molly, is a species of fish that has the unique ability to live in both fresh water and saltwater. They inhabit fresh water streams and coastal brackish and marine waters of Mexico.

​Swordfish live throughout much of the world's oceans. They seem to prefer warmer waters. Their swords are razor sharp and they use them to slice their prey in half.  They are one of the fastest fish in the ocean and have been timed at over 80  kilometres per hour.
